Nate and Holly Day

First Baptist Church welcomed new Youth Pastor Nate Day to Ohio and to First Baptist Church in January 2010. Nate and his wife, Holly, moved from Kansas City, Missouri, where they have been involved in youth ministries for several years. They have two children, Gabrielle (4) and Isaiah (1).

Join Pastor Nate and Holly in the Clayhouse on Sunday mornings at 10:30 and Wednesday evenings at 6:30.

Sunday Mornings in the Clayhouse @ 10:30 am

Our High School and middle school students meet with Youth Pastor Nate Day and his Clayhouse parent volunteers every Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Clayhouse, during First Baptist Church's second worship service. Students usually attend the 9 a.m. worship service in the main building before coming to the Clayhouse at 10:30.

RIOT on Wednesdays in the Clayhouse @ 6:30 pm

RIOT for grades 6-12 runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes worship time, games, and relevant, age-appropriate, Bible-based teaching for students. Students do not have to be members of First Baptist church; visitors and guests are always welcome. The Clayhouse is located behind the main church building. For more information about RIOT, contact Youth Pastor Nate Day at 330-725-5853 or email nated@firstmedina.org.

Youth Building Addition - 2008
Cement trucks arrive to begin pouring the new floor.

In the summer of 2007, FBC kicked off "A Time to Grow," a campaign to raise $300,000 to build an addition to our existing youth facility and make necessary improvements to our existing facilities as well.

"The Shack," home to FBC's youth ministry for many years, was actually a converted bus garage located behind the main church building. The Shack had no running water or bathroom facilities before this project began, and was also unable to comfortably house both the senior high and junior high students at the same time.

On Saturday, August 30, we debuted "The Clayhouse," our beautiful new youth building. "Clayhouse" is not just a building, it's a whole concept based on the fact that we are to be molded like clay into the servants God wants us to be. Clayhouse is "Where Soul Takes Shape." Join us Sunday mornings at 10:30 and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 to learn more.

Pictured here: The cement trucks arrived on January 28 to begin pouring the new floor.

Emergency Contact Form

For safety, our goal is to have an Emergency Contact Form on file for each child and student (under 18) who attends FBC or participates in FBC events. If you have not yet filled in an Emergency Contact Form, you can download and print out the form here, fill it in and either mail it or bring it to the church office.

Campers are REQUIRED to have an Emergency Contact Form on file before leaving for camp.

Questions? See Children's Ministry Director Nancy Gillentine or email nancyg@firstmedina.org.

From Former Youth Pastor Shawn Koonce

After 4 years of serving as Youth & Missions Pastor at First Baptist Church, Shawn Koonce shared in 2009 that he would be moving into a brand-new ministry that will help connect missionaries and supporters. You can read his letter to the church by clicking on the file at right.
