What We Believe

We are an independent Baptist church. This means our local church body is self-governing, subject to the authority of the Bible, and in agreement with traditional Baptist doctrine. We are not governed by a Synod or Diocese or other outside organization. Our church membership elects a Board of Deacons to work with our Senior Pastor as he leads the church.

We believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, which we understand to mean the whole Bible. (Mark 12:36, 2 Timothy 3:16 & 17, 2 Peter 1:2)

We believe in one God, the Creator of everything, who exists in Three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19 & 20, John 1:1-4, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Hebrews 1:13)

We believe that man was originally created in the image of God but fell through his disobedience to God. Because of Adam's sin, each of us is born naturally sinful, deserving of death and in need of God's forgiveness and salvation. (Genesis 2:17, Psalm 51:5, Romans 3:10-19, Romans 5:12-14, Ephesians 2:13)

We believe that God loved the world so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live a sinless life and become the perfect, sacrificial Lamb whose death on the Cross would pay the price for the sins of mankind. (John 1:29, Romans 3:25 & 26, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Hebrews 10:5-14)

We believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead on the third day through the power of God (John 20:20, 1 Corinthians 15:3-7 & 20, Philippians 3:20) and that forty days after His Resurrection He ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father, working as the intercessor and advocate for all believers. (Ephesians 1:22 & 23, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1)

We believe that all people must be born again, or saved, by placing their faith and trust in Jesus Christ and His saving work on the cross. (John 1:12, Acts 16:31, Philippians 3:4-9, Titus 3:5) This faith alone, by God's grace, is what saves us and gives us the promise of eternal life with God in Heaven.

Read our entire Confession of Faith in our Church Constitution.

What Does All This Mean? How Can I Be Saved?

God made you. God loves you. God wants to have a relationship with you. He sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross so that your sins can be forgiven.

The Bible teaches us that if you admit that you have sinned and ask God for forgiveness, believe that Jesus died for you, and confess that Jesus is your Savior, God will forgive all your sin and welcome you into His family.

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

"To all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." John 1:12

"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
